Welcome to the new home of SCATA (Stocksfield Community Association Trading Arm).

We are an award winning community-led, not-for-profit organisation focusing on trading, developing and managing assets for the benefit of local people.

We work closely with our local Parish Council and community to deliver a variety of local projects that will improve the community of Stocksfield.

We have been involved in a number of notable projects which include delivering community-led housing. One such project, the development of seven affordable homes with our partner Karbon Homes (formerly Isos Housing), scooped first prize in the ‘Best Partnership’ category at the prestigious National Housing Awards in London.

We are proud to be one of 225 community-led land trusts in England and Wales and contribute to developing much-needed affordable homes for our community.

North East Community Led Housing Development Strategy

Created by the North East Community Led Housing Network, this strategy sets down the future ambition for community led housing in the region; where we are today, where we want to be and the challenges we face in the process. Most importantly, it sets out a vision through five 'BIG ideas' which rely on the collaboration between public, private and third sector. To read the strategy please click here.

The new draft strategy was unveiled at the Community Led Housing conference  on Wednesday 20 June.

Transport Needs Survey

With levels of public funding available for bus services steadily falling, the lack of public transport inevitably has the biggest effect on the youngest and oldest residents without access to their own transport.

SCATA  and Broomley & Stocksfield Parish Council want to find out as much information as possible regarding transport in and around Stocksfield. SCATA and the Parish Council have already researched Community Transport schemes operating elsewhere in Northumberland and once the results of this survey are available, will look at possible solutions. Look for surveys when you get your next edition of NE43 news.

Results from the survey will appear here soon.
